Ahhh … relaxation. It’s something we all need, especially this time of year. Yet it seems like it’s harder and harder to slow down, unwind, and let go of the stress and anxiety of the day.

But when you relax in your sauna, it’s easy to step inside and spend some time improving your quality of life. How? We’re glad you asked…

Read that book you’ve been longing to read. Your sauna is the perfect place to get lost within the pages of a good, old-fashioned page turner, and forget about the troubles of the day.

Enjoy your favorite music. Relax on the comfortable bench, close your eyes, and let your favorite music ease your mind.

Listen to nature sounds. Obviously, you’ll need a sound machine or an app on your phone. But the soothing sounds of ocean waves, a mountain stream or a forest at night can be incredibly calming.

Accomplish some breathing exercises. While the heat of your sauna eases your muscles, take some deep breaths – in through your nose and out through your mouth – to help lower your blood pressure and put your mind and body in a state of peace.

X(e)xcuse yourself to daydream. (X’s are hard, OK?) In all seriousness, daydreaming can be a great way to relax. There’s something very freeing about giving your mind the time and space to wander.

If you don’t already have a sauna of your own (Trust us – it’s MUCH better than the shared sauna at the health club.), there are a lot of options to choose from: Infrared, traditional or even new combo units.  Custom saunas can be installed in an unused space in your home, like a closet or a workout room. If you want an even more authentic sauna experience, go for an outdoor unit, like the Finns do!

When you’re ready to carve a little time out of the day for yourself (HOW much longer can you wait? Honestly?), give us a call or stop by a showroom to learn more about how you can relax in your sauna.
